Hi ther it's been a while. I have this desktop hp pavilion c317x that wont show anything on the screen when turned on.the fan is on, however it is no doing POST.
I put my version 7.5 post card and it tels me right away the code dE, when i look up on BIOS central, I cant find this code this is a phoenix BIOS according o HP and i doesnt say anyhting about this code on HP Bios post codes or PHOENIX. What could cause this code?

The Dx series of POST codes relate to the bootblock initialization checkpoints. The bootblock initialization code sets up the chipset, memory and other components before system memory is available. So I think that would point to a motherboard component or chipset failure, or even the RAM, as it gets initialized during this part of POST. I would try swapping the RAM if you have a comparable module available, and then retest.

ok that means if it s not the memory once check em, it could be a whole replacement of the mobo?

Hey I found out that one of the modules was damaged. it had 2 modules. thanks again!!!
