Title: No possibility to ignore missing driver
Post by: jacobacci on October 20, 2016, 03:26:15 am
Hi
PC-Doctor reports a missing driver (for a "Ghost" printer, which was not removed fully). With the other categories I can chose to ignore the message and to make the red/yellow indicator in the task bar go away. With the missing driver that does not seem possible.
Can you please provide this option. I cannot see when there is a new error, if the taskbar icon is yellow all the time.
Thanks a lot

Hello,

Are you able to remove the printer in the control panel under Devices and Printers? If not I would see if you can remove it from the device manager, or see if there is an uninstaller that can be obtained from the printer manufacturer. Once it is fully removed the issue will go away.

I don't believe there is an override other than the ignore box, and if that isn't an option then the devices traces might need to be removed. I will do a little more research and get back to you.

Hi James,
Got it solved. PC Doctor showed the printer as disabled. When I enabled it through PC Doctor, I was able to uninstall it in Device Manager.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
