If the crosshairs appear distorted or out of focus, a problem may exist with the monitor alignment. Use the color spectrum array for visually verifying the monitor color depth capacity. If the colors in the color spectrum do not blend smoothly together, a problem may exist with the monitor color depth. Use the graduated horizontal and vertical alignment bars to determine the monitor resolution capabilities. The better you can discern individual lines as they move closer together, the higher the resolution capabilities of the monitor.

Monitor Interactive Test
Use the following test functions to determine if a display monitor is in good working order:
- Combination Test:
Checks the monitor for alignment, color depth, and monitor resolution using various
graphic elements. Pass or fail for the test is determined by how the objects appear on screen (for example,
screen does not align horizontally correctly, colors do not display correctly, line boxes become blurry as they
get smaller). - Solid Color Test:
The solid color test is for laptops and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screens. This test focuses
on testing the pixels in the display screen. A pixel (a word invented from "picture element") is the basic unit of
programmable color on a computer display. This test uses solid color screens to make sure all pixels display
color correctly. All pixels should display the appropriate color. If a pixel fails to function, it will appear as a
black dot. - VESA Test Patterns:
The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) test patterns check the brightness of
your monitor, how accurately geometric figures display, and if your monitor is out of focus.
