When I run the diagnostic test on one of my computers it fails the checksum test.  I replaced the battery hoping that would fix it, but it still fails the test.  What kind of problems will it cause if the checksum is not correct?  And how do I go about fixing it?

bikeranne,

I assume you are speaking about the CMOS cheksum test.

Please let me know what type of system you have, Make and model or if it a clone, what type of motherboard it has. Also paste the error you are getting in in the log.

Some areas of CMOS on some systems are write protected and will fail the test.
