I am looking for a hardware diagnostic solution where I would be able boot from a USB thumb drive and run from the thumb drive the diag software that would detect and digagnose all hardward from the Motherboard,RAM,Hard Drives, serial ports, Video, Ethernet ports, etc. The diagnostics would generally test for functionality, regardless of what OS would be installed on that particular system. These systems generally run Windows XP or BSD (UNIX) but the diagnostic software should not really care what OS is on the system, only that it will boot from the thumb drive and test the system. Is this within the scope of PC-Doctor?

StuWildBlue,

We've got you covered!  That is exactly what the Service center MUD (multipurpose USB Device) does. It is a bootable device that contains the PC-Doctor DOS build.

With the DOS product you can test the hardware directly without any intervening drivers.  It is completely OS independent and can even be used on systems without and OS installed as it is on many major OEM manufacturing lines.  The suite of tests is very comprehensive, for a complete list of DOS tests check here;
http://www.pc-doctor.com/pcd_service_center.php#dos_tests

The windows product (also included in Service Center) will test the system as a whole, helping to unearth driver and configuration issues.

Together the DOS and Windows product allow you to quickly and accurately determine what is wrong with systems.
