Hello,

I am currently a Tech at Staples, and our 7.5 USB Dongle does not function correctly.

When I boot into the PC Doctor 7.5 w/PE cd, it does not recognize the dongle.

When I boot Windows, I put the CD in, and can restore the dongle with success, but the Service Center still does not recognize the USB Dongle, either in Windows or when I boot from CD.

I can boot the dongle directly, and it functions in the DOS environment.

Please Advise.

Very strange indeed.  To summarize, you are able to use the dongle to boot into DOS without issue, but when you attempt to use the dongle in a windows environment the dongle is not recognized.

In order to assist you further there are a few questions that I need to ask:
1. Is this on a single system?
2. Is this limited to a single port?
3. Is this behavior limited to a particular OS?
4. Do you have access to multiple dongles?  If so is this behavior seen with the other dongles as well?
5. Which operating systems are being used? x64 and/or x86?
6. Type of USB port: USB, USB 2, or USB 3?

Hello again,

Thanks for getting back with me.

1. This occurs on multiple machines.
2. This is not limited to a single port.
3. This behavior occurs in XP, Vista, and Windows 7
4. We have 1 other 7.5 Dongle, and it functions without any issues.
5. x64 and x86
6. USB 1.0 and 2.0. I haven't tried a USB 3 port at this time

Hello,

It sounds like you may have a defective MUD.  I do not have the ability to do RMAs through the forums.  I have spoken to our tech support team, please submit a ticket through our website http://www.pc-doctor.com/support.php and they will assist you with the RMA process.
