My computer exhibits very strange behavior. It shuts down in about 1 second after pressing 'start' button. The next button press doesn't even do that. In order to try again, I have to pull and re-insert the plug ir flip the power strip switch. Then it does the same thing.
The most interesting thing is that it works fine everywhere else, including repair shops, except anywhere in my house. Voltage in my receptacles is 122-123 V. It does the same thing through UPS with power conditioning.
Therefore, the voltage is not to blame.
Looks like overload, since it takes time before the next start-shut down cycle. But why it works everywhere else? The other computer I am using now works fine in the same house.
Does anybody has an idea?????

tolmach,

10 to 1 it's your power supply.

Fred,

Your are right. Power supply going bad, but not completely yet. Intermittent short. I already replaced it and now everything is OK.
Thanks.
