I have a 6 year-old Acer laptop that has crashed. Windows will not start and I either get a blue screen or a prompt to restore the system.  Restore does not work.  I am able to boot from the DVD drive and tried to restore from a set of restore discs I had made a long time ago.  The machine accepts all 3 discs of the set but then freezes at 0% progress on actual install.  Before I buy PC-Doctor, I wanted to know if it's possible to use it to boot up my machine and then diagnose what the issue is (guessing bad hard drive but not 100% sure).

Hi Steve,

Sorry to hear about the issues you are facing with your machine. Yes,  :) PC-Doctor Service Center would be able to be launched from our bootable environment (via USB of DVD) or DOS environment to test and diagnose any hardware issues that may be present on the machine. The link below provides a list of the diagnostic tests available within Service Center:

If you decide this is the route you would like to go you can purchase Service Center by navigating to the following link:

Or by contacting our Sales team at sales@pc-doctor.com or via phone at 775-336-4000.

Thanks,
Channing
