Will drive encryption cause the Linear, Random and Funnel Seek tests to fail?  Surface scan fails too, but all SMART tests pass.

There are certain types of drive encryption that report as general I/O failures rather than access denied, these failures would appear to be bad sectors to our tests, thus resulting with a failed test result. 
If you ran all SMART tests, including the extended SMART Test, than the failures you are seeing may be the result of the encryption.
