Hi everybody,

I've been scheduled for a technical phone interview for the Software Engineer position. I was wondering what topics are going to be covered on the interview so that I can prepare better. For my online test, it was mostly C++. Is it going to be similar or any different?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Kmurali,

The phone interview is not going to be overly technical. During the interview just be honest and be yourself.

Hi Fred,

The interview was in fact very technical! It was all about C++, PC hardware etc!

Hi Fred,

Well, some questions I could answer. And couldn't answer some others. So, it is hard to say. Unfortunately, I did not know beforehand what kinds of questions to expect in the phone interview. Anyway, it depends on what level of expertise the interviewers were expecting. They said they'd get back to me within 1 or 2 days. So, right now, I'm just waiting to hear from them.

Hoping for the best! *fingers crossed*

kmurali,

I hope you did well also.

A phone interview at PC-Doctor is not something you study up for like a final exam to "pass".  It is used to see how you handle yourself, if you were truthfull on your resume and written testing.  Knowing the questions beforehand would kind of defeat the purpose.

Fred,

Of course, I agree that the interview is meant to test your knowledge. I did not expect to know the exact questions beforehand, but I meant the "kinds" of questions; as in the topics that I would be tested on. I'm sure just knowing the "topic" of your interview would not defeat its purpose! On the contrary, it would help the candidate to prepare and "do well" (not "pass") Smiley
