Hey there,

I've just tested a Samsung Netbook N140 with PCDSC 7.5 and i noticed that PCDSC running under Win-PE did not found any trouble with that RAM and said all tests where passed while running the same test under On-line OS (Win 7 Starter) nearly all Memory-Tests failed.

I doubled checked the results and tested the memory with the MUD (with Error Found).
How could it be? i thought that the testing-method would be the same regardless of running in Windows (Online) or Win-PE.

Greetings from Germany,

chrisn,

The most reliable method of testing memory is in DOS.  In win PE or in windows the OS takes up a large amount of memory, this memory can not be tested.

I always use the DOS memory tests, they are some of the best in the industry.
