i just ran the fast scan and came up with
sector block (217604322 to 217604322) failed verification
disk 0 random verify failed

can some one help me out? my computer was fine until it restarted for an update now i get the blue screen of death and it will not even let me into safe mode to get rid of the update.

also if it is doa can i get my info off the laptop or am i done?

thanks for any advise on this

I would attempt to start in safe mode command prompt and run chkdsk /f to see if you can remap the bad sectors on the disk.  You may be able to boot into windows then.

If chkdsk does not work, windows repair/recovery may help, if all else fails you can remove the hard disk and mount it on another computer to retrieve the data.

it wont let me go into safe mode any way i try... and i didnt get a disk with my laptop so i am lost. also i guess you could say i dont know what i am doing. thanks for the advise.

i found and downloaded the fix disk but it didnt help either

I would mount up the drive in another computer and backup your data before you do anything else.  If you don't feel comfortable doing this, take it to a qualifies repair center.
