Diagnostics unable to run.  Machine boots, loads and goes to the menu.  I
select a test, and the computer says "Strike a key when ready"  once I hit a
key the program returns to a menu and says "Test Cancelled".  Hitting any
key returns to the mainmenu  I've tried almost every key on the keyboard.
Software works on other machines....
I have also used different RAM in different sockets with the same results.
Any other ideas?

Could you help us out by telling us what product you are using and what OS is being run?  Also, if you can, the version number might also be helpful.
