I'm looking at a laptop that failed the hard drive test:
Disk 0 Linear Verify failed - sector block(55596 to 55596)failed verifcation
Disk 0 Random Verify failed
Disk 1 Linear Verify failed
all others passed
Is this hard drive finished? What does this test result say?
When I pull the hard drive. I can access the files in the recovery partion, but the C drive files don't show.
Are those files lost?

Thanks for your help

thejoe,

It looks like that drive is done.  You may be able to recover some or all of the files on the drive by using chkdsk.  If the information on the drive is important enough to spend some money on there are drive recovery programs and services that you may want to avail yourself of.
