As a new user with v.6, I get a nessage: "This version of PC-DOCTOR requires a special locking device" when I boot w/CD- Thought I purchased the full skinny- Am I missing something? Looked over site, media and paperwork but no direction on this. Any help appreciated & thx in advance-

Sogcyp,

The locking device is the USB key or MUD (multipurpose USB device) as we call it.  The MUD must be plugged into the machine under test.  The MUD must remain in the unit while testing is under progress or you will get a licensing error.

Make sure your BIOS is set to use USB devices, setting up the devices so USB devices are bootable is handy as the MUD is a bootable device and contains the DOS product.  This way you don’t even have to use the CD, at least for DOS. The Windows product also requires the MUB to be present to operate.

The manual is a PDF file located on the distribution CD.  Copy it to a handy place or print it out for easy reference.
