I was testing my Radeon 9200 video card and everything passed except for the video memory test. It's said Engine (1) Test Failed. What does this mean? Thanks! -Sean

Hi Sean,

The message means that the Video Memory Test cannot verify that the content of the video memory is the same as the test data generated by the test. For Radeon 9200, the Video Memory Test is testing the on-board DDR memory, shared AGP memory, and the display buffer. This failure does not necessarily mean that your Radeon 9200 memory components are physically damaged.

During the test, you should not see the mouse cursor, or any other icons, on the monitor. If you do, there could be a problem with the test program. In this case, please let us know the product version number so we can track the problem.

You may also install an updated video driver from AMD (ATI may call themselves AMD nowadays). This common remedy tends to allow the video tests to pass. Be sure to follow the installation guide.

Please let me know if you have more questions regarding this test.

Thanks,
