Here is some of the hardware we will need:
"Intel Researchers Demonstrate 40Gbps Optical Chips" http://www.gearlog.com/2007/07/intel_researchers_demonstrate.php This problem will only get much worse without net neutrality (http://www.savetheinternet.com/=faq). Even if you have 100 Gb/s if any provider along the way the big companies that "own" the internet links can slow down your traffic.
Ken, I do agree that net neutrality is a major issue and deserves it's own blog post. This is particularly important since recently, broadband companies have asked congress's permission to determine what content gets to users and at what speed. Bill H.R. 5252 was passed in May by the House and did not provide any adequate net neutrality measures. The issue has moved to the Senate, which passed S 2686 but without the amendment that would have added net neutrality. Even tho the amendment failed, it had a tie vote of 11-11. This is a good sign that has placed neutrality on the agenda. It now moves to the full senate. Let's watch this one closely!
