Mac Rumors - Apple has posted a support document suggesting that the continuing MobileMe email outage affecting 1% of MobileMe users is due to a "serious" issue with one of their mail servers. Affected users have been unable to send or receive email since the tumultuous MobileMe transition began over 5 days ago.
Engadget - The boys and girls at Microsoft Research are getting set to publish a report detailing a competing (and in their perspective, superior) technology to replace the LCD monitors we've grown to know and love heart with reservations. By using pixels that boast "a pair of mirrors to block or transmit light," displays could theoretically be created which are "faster, brighter, and more power efficient than liquid crystal displays."
Continue reading "Top Tech Headlines for Wednesday, July 23 2008"

AppleInsider - Investment bank Piper Jaffray said Tuesday it believes Apple is readying new iPod and notebook products that will apply downward pressure to profit margins because they'll be priced more affordably, such as 13-inch MacBook that will fetch less than $1000.
AppleInsider - With the iPhone 3G not even ten days old, virtually all of the Apple retail store stores open within the United States are without any examples of the device to sell on July 21st.

Invisible, Near-Weightless Nanotubes Could Support Humans, Buildings, Space Elevators
Gizmodo - In what sounds like the result of the lamest Truth or Dare party ever, scientists have calculated how many nanotubes it would take to support the weight of one human. The discovery unto itself isn't that impressive—a nanotube rope that's one centimeter in diameter could do the trick.
Continue reading "Top Tech Headlines for Monday, July 21 2008"
